Boom Cylinder On Excavator

The boom cylinder on excavator is a critical hydraulic component responsible for controlling the lifting and lowering movements of the excavator's boom. Built to withstand extreme loads and harsh working environments, this double-acting hydraulic cylinder ensures precision, power, and durability in construction and earth-moving applications.

Manufactured from high-strength materials such as SAE4140 or 42CrMo4, the piston rod undergoes surface hardening to achieve a hardness of HRC55–60, followed by chrome plating with a minimum thickness of 30 microns for superior wear and corrosion resistance. The cylinder barrel is precision honed to a surface roughness of R₀.2–R₀.4, ensuring smooth operation and extended service life. Depending on the inner diameter, seamless cold-rolled or hot-rolled steel tubes are used, with forged options available for larger diameters.
